Witness Network & survivor empowerment
‘HfRN will collaborate to ensure that survivors of violence & brutality inflicted by borders and anti-migrant policies have their experiences and voices heard’
HfRN will achieve this in the following ways;
Through the building of a witness network within migrant communities. We will work with those subjected to hostile border regimes directly to provide training and resources enabling, empowering and protecting them to gather evidence and expose systemic harms.
Development of a ‘Witness training’ – a bespoke training package for people harmed by border regimes, and those who stand in solidarity with them. Participants will be trained and resourced to gather evidence of systemic rights abuses they directly face or witness.
Development of a digital witness toolkit – and agile method of collecting testimony of human rights abuses from all people forced to migrate – at borders, in barracks, in barges, people will be able to bear witness to their own abusers.
Collaborating with others to amplify the voice of people who’ve survived or are surviving
